AMQP for Middleware Interoperability

Use the AMQP Protocol with a Layer 7 API Gateway

The Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) is an open standard protocol for message-oriented middleware. The goal of AMQP is to enable true interoperability between middleware products from different vendors.

This video tutorial provides more detailed background information on the AMQP protocol and includes a short demonstration of the interoperability of AMQP exchanges and queues with Layer 7’s API Gateways.

Using an open source RabbitMQ server to implement the AMQP protocol, this demonstration shows how an API Gateway can send messages to an AMQP exchange and receive messages from RabbitMQ as they arrive in a queue.
