Leader in SOA Security and Governance Closes Year with Double Digit Increase in Revenue, Strong Customer Demand and Expansion of Global Channel

 
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, JANUARY 14, 2010 – Layer 7 Technologies, the leader in SOA and cloud security, today announced record revenue performance for 2009, marking the company’s fourth consecutive year of double or triple digit growth. Layer 7 closed 2009 with double digit growth over 2008, four consecutive quarters of sequential quarterly growth, 35 percent growth in customers across six continents and new VAR partner additions in North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As organizations adopt SOA and cloud computing, concerns about security and management are becoming top of mind. Layer 7 Technologies, a long-standing leader in SOA and Web services security, is leading the way with new security and management innovations to help customers share application services across the extended enterprise and now the cloud.

  • Strong Customer Growth: Acquired more new customers in 2009 than during any previous year: new wins spanned a variety of industries and five continents. Key wins include: InfoGroup, Los Angeles Superior Courts, MedicAlert, Government of Singapore, Telstra, Rogers Communications, Defense Information Systems Agency, Federal Aviation Administration, Swiss SkyGuide and Helsana Insurance. 
  • Expansion of Global Channel: Added new reseller and distribution partners across much of Europe and key regions in Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Middle East. Key partner wins include Germany (Softcon), Belgium (OPNS), Spain (Grupo CMC), France (JVL), Finland (AgentIT), Canada (int3s), Australia (First Point Global), Israel (Advantech), South Africa (Blue Turtle), Brazil (SeedTS) and Chile (Indecs).
  • New Product Innovation: Introduced the first Cloud SOA Gateway for Amazon EC2. Added the first service management platform that spans enterprise and cloud-based service deployments. Launched the industry’s first Oracle Service Bus Appliance for extending the Oracle service bus into the DMZ.
  • Third-Party Validation: Named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Integrated SOA Governance Technology Sets by Gartner, Inc.* The company also received leadership and innovation recognition from Infoworld and TechForum for real-world customer deployments with measureable business results.
