Layer 7 Technologies helps to promote Web services and define and refine industry standards through our participation in several standards bodies and associations.


Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I)

Layer 7 Technologies VP Engineering & Chief Architect K. Scott Morrison, is an editor of Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) Basic Security Profile. WS-I promotes Web services interoperability across operating systems, platforms, and programming languages. The organization also provides resources, best practices, and guidance for Web services solution development.

 

World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

Layer 7 Technologies is an editor of the WS- Policy specification for the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). W3C develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) in the establishment of Web standards. The organization is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding.

 

Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS)

Layer 7 Technologies is an active member of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS). OASIS is a non-profit international consortium that produces standards for Web services, security, e-business, and public and private-sector standardization efforts.

 

IJIS

Layer 7 has joined IJIS Institute as a new affiliate member, raising SOA awareness in the justice community.

 

Integration Consortium

Layer 7 Technologies has joined the Integration Consortium, a non-profit, leading industry body responsible for influencing the direction of the integration industry. The mission of the Integration Consortium (IC) is to foster the leading community of like-minded Information Technology professionals responsible for transforming business through both traditional systems integration and emerging SOA with greater agility, ease of use and business results.

 

AFCEA

Layer 7 is a member of AFCEA International. Established in 1946, AFCEA is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for IT advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security.

 

SOA Consortium

Layer 7 is part of the SOA Consortium/OMG Group. The SOA Consortium is a SOA advocacy group comprised of end users, service providers, and technology vendors, committed to helping the Global 1000 successfully adopt SOA by 2010.
