Use linked APIs to break through data silos and better integrate information

The challenges faced by today’s software architects go far beyond the familiar. “Big Data” means more than managing petabytes of data – it requires dealing with data-sets that span organizational boundaries. Likewise, “distributed system” no longer refers to just a multi-tier architecture or cloud deployment – it usually involves the connection of non-heterogeneous systems across multiple organizations.

In this interactive session, originally broadcast as part of the Tech Talk series, Irakli Nadareishvili of the Layer 7 API Academy discusses how architects can use “linked APIs” to address these challenges. Linked APIs make it possible to cross organizational, technological and cultural boundaries to break through data silos and better integrate information.

Viewer questions answered in this Tech Talk include:

  • What are differences and similarities between linked APIs and linked data?
  • What can we do today to start building linked APIs?
  • Who is building Linked APIs today?
