Integrate diverse security models for effective Web services IAM
Web services deployment is typically complicated by questions about access: Who stays out? Who gets in? The problem is that, despite the name, Web services are not really about the Web. In the SOA domain, questions of authentication and authorization are vastly more complicated than they are on the Web.
Web services and SOA are all about integration – most obviously, the integration of different data, operating systems and architectures. They are also about the integration of different security models: SAML, passwords, digital certificates, Kerberos, proprietary tokens and more. The list is vast and diverse.
